Project Profile – Inactive Gasoline Station, Holmes County, OH

The site is a former gasoline fueling facility located in Holmes County, Ohio that retained release coverage through the Petroleum Underground Storage Tank Release Compensation Board (PUSTRCB).  Remnant concentrations of gasoline chemicals of concern (COCs) were discovered in soil and groundwater during underground storage tank (UST) closure activities.  Free product was reported in several monitoring wells that were installed as part of additional assessment activities. Corrective actions developed and implemented by BJAAM included groundwater fate and transport modeling, the derivation of site-specific target levels (SSTLs), and the development and implementation of a dual-phase extraction (DPE) Remedial Action Plan (RAP).  BUSTR issued the site No Further Action (NFA) status on December 1, 2014.  PUSTRCB reimbursement denials on this project were 2.58%.
